Instructional Design Consulting

Using a combination of instructional design techniques, we consult with you to determine the best learning solutions for your business and employees’ needs.

Our Process: ADDIE & AGILE

Though many instructional design models have been developed over the years, we find that the tried-and-true ADDIE Model (analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate) remains the most effective and comprehensive.

That said, we do incorporate some of the AGILE methodology into our process.

This means that we break down the components of your training – whether it be an eLearning module, a Rise course, or a 10-part procedure guide – into smaller sections.

Using the AGILE approach has many benefits. It allows us to work with you to:

Students in Cafeteria

Use a learner-centered approach

We review each piece of content and learning activity to make sure it’s engaging, effective, and interactive.

Design Magazine

Create higher quality content

Fuzzy graphics? Walls of text? Not with this process! Breaking content into smaller chunks – versus reviewing the project as a whole all at once – allows us to catch the little things that might otherwise get missed.

Graphic Designer

Cut down on last-minute changes

Since we review the content in stages, we can make sure it’s ready to go before moving on. This helps us get the course out on schedule without worrying about those pesky delays that are common with a strict ADDIE development approach.

Female Developers

Collaborate effectively

Stakeholders, trainers, learners, approvers – everyone has a say and gets to provide their input and feedback to make the training the best it can be.

Content transformation process

Here's a breakdown of our process:

Learning needs analysis

A learning needs analysis (LNA) is the first step in the performance mapping process. It identifies the gap between your employees' current and desired skills, as well as the recommended training interventions for them to perform effectively.

You’ll receive a comprehensive learning needs analysis – business goals, a learner persona, training evaluation, and recommendations.

Create, develop, map out

We’ll map out the content development and timelines for the design plan. You’ll know exactly what you’re getting and when. No missed deadlines here!

Design and develop training content

Our design process includes a blended approach of self-study and interactive trainer-led content, including branded visuals and robust facilitator guides. In this stage, you’ll get:

  • Design documents – both high-level and detailed – that maps out the flow of your content or course(s).

  • Learning assets (i.e., the content in its final delivery format ) that go through multiple review cycles to make sure we get it just right.

  • A thorough collaboration and review process with all your stakeholders and subject matter experts.

Implementation

Next, we'll train your trainers to use the new content – revamped and redesigned for a virtual delivery.

Evaluation

Once the pilot course has been completed, we'll review your KPIs. If we discover any gaps in the training, we’ll fine-tune it until it creates performance perfection. Our goal: no employee left behind.

We’ll work with you to transform your current courses to a modern, customized format that meets your business’s needs.

Here are some types of training that we can incorporate into your organization’s current framework:

Faded Shapes

Blended learning

In blended learning, learners receive a mix of traditional, instructor-led training with self-paced courses and hands-on activities. From soft skills training to tech support to leadership development, we’ve done it all and can work with you to take your content to the next level.

Microlearning

Microlearning delivers short bursts of content for just-in-time learning in the moment. It’s delivered when needed – often embedded as a help icon in a tool or platform. Some examples of microlearning include explainer videos, job aids, and mini-lessons.

Gamification

Make learning fun again with trivia, escape rooms, contests and more that tests your employees’ knowledge while keeping them engaged in the learning process!

Learning that's so fun it doesn't even feel like work!
